Promoting self-care in the social work profession is a topic that I am most passionate about. I have experienced vicarious trauma and burn-out in my social work career and I found self-care practices such as yoga, meditation, athletics and creative arts to be necessary tools for me to find sustainability and healing. I am thrilled to participate in Columbia University School of Social Work's Self-Care Day again this year by offering a workshop titled Creating A Vision Board. This workshop invites participants to engage in gentle seated yoga and meditation in order to cultivate a vision for his/her social work career. Participants then use creative arts to bring that vision to life!
